E. Gavrielides Oy is a Finnish family company importing foodstuffs mainly from Greece, Germany and Cyprus. Company was founded in 1986 and it has been growing ever since. In 2008 the turnover was 8,6 million euros and currently the company employs about 24 persons.
The company is a forerunner in importing Greek products. It is the first to systematically import Greek specialities such as olives, olive oil, pepperonis and feta-cheese to Finland. In addition to the Greek products the company is strong in German foodstuffs: bratwurst, salamis, hams and conserves. Other products are also imported from other EU countries, most important of which is Cyprus. Last year (2007) our selection was broadened by a product line from Thailand.
The product range is in continuous increase although the main items remain relatively constant. Currently there are about 500 active items.
The products are spread widely throughout Finland; it is unlikely to find a shop without any of E. Gavrielides Oy products. Our special “Greek shelves” can be found from many well equipped retail stores all over the country. We do business with all the biggest chains in Finland and also supply independent shops, restaurants and Alko (monopoly for alcoholic drinks).
E. Gavrielides Oy has been active in Estonia since the year 2000 mainly delivering Greek wines. From year 2006 we have also supplied foodstuffs to Tallinn area. Business in Baltic countries and Russia (St Petersburg area) are expected to become an essential part of the company in the following years. The excellent quality of the products, supply reliability and good logistical position will enable growth development.
